Niagara River Fishing Charter Catches

Because of all the talk about how plentiful the Steelhead, Brown Trout, Lake Trout, Walleyes, King Salmon, and Trophy Bass, are in the Niagara River, we thought you would like to see them for yourself. So here are some photographs we took on some of our fishing charters.

  • A pretty spring Steelhead caught on the Niagara river. These Steelhead come into the Niagara River out of Lake Ontario throughout the winter and spring.
  • Many of the steelhead caught in late winter and spring are in spawning colors like this 10 lb female caught in the lower Niagara River upstream from Lewiston, NY
  • Captain John with a nice steelhead caught while fishing in the Devils hole area in The Niagara River Gorge.
  • A 10 lb Brown trout caught on the Niagara Bar in March. We catch some really nice Browns while fishing for Lake trout on the bar.
  • Spawning colored male steelhead caught while fishing with Captain John on the Lower Niagara River.
  • The Lower Niagara River produces some of the biggest walleyes anywhere. This 13 lb walleye was caught in the Lower Niagara while fishing within sight of the Lewiston launch ramp.
  • This 15 pounder is the Biggest walleye I've caught to date. We also catch some Nice ones all summer in Lake Erie off the Mouth of the Niagara River near Buffalo, NY.
  • Lake trout are also very abundant both in the Niagara River during the winter and on Lake Ontario during spring and summer.
  • Joe Shilbilski from PA comes to fish with Niagara River Guides every winter to catch beautiful steelhead like this.
  • This Nice big Fat Brown Trout was caught on the Niagara Bar during March.
  • 13 lb. Steelhead: April brings nicer weather and with it some nice Chrome Steelhead. This fish was caught at Artpark just above Lewiston, New York
  • 17lb Steelhead: Craig Raybold from Ohio with a beautiful late January Steelhead caught at Artpark in the lower Niagara River.
  • Two nice Brown trout caught in March on the Niagara River Bar near the Green Bouy.
  • January Spawning: Colored Male Sheephead.
  • This huge 24lb. Brown Trout was caught in mid February on the Niagara Bar. We catch many Browns in the 10 - 20lb. range.
  • Captain john DeLorenzo with a nice November steelhead fresh Up the Niagara River from Lake Ontario.
  • Brooke Gunsallus and Steve Sopko of PA with a 34inch 17 lb Steelhead caught in The 1st week of February. These guys have been fishing with Captain John and Niagara River Guides in February every year for 20 years.
